There’s a reason why Spring is the perfect time to clean out your home and start from scratch – it’s the season of rebirth, so why not the season of redecorating?
During the winter months, my living room became a comfy, cozy den as I hid out from the snow and rain (ie. lots of blankets and pillows for binge-watching Netflix). But, as the weather changes, I’m drawn to an aesthetic that’s light and fresh (and definitely less bulky). Essentially, I want my home to be an oasis of tranquility as my social life gets increasingly busy over the course of the Spring. Suddenly my days off are spent at the park or on a hike, my evenings at a patio party or barbecue – when I get home, I just want to zen out on the couch with a book and a glass of wine.
I recently visited Crate & Barrel seeking inspiration for how to update my living room from my hibernation zone into an oasis. The old adage remains true: seek and ye shall find.
Without completely overhauling my living room, I found three key ways to brighten up my space and create the tranquil zone I’ve been dreaming of.
