Over the years, I’ve attended my share of plated dinner occasions. I’m often underwhelmed with the dining experience and odds are I’ve spent hours (OK, maybe 20 minutes) combing my closet to retrieve that perfect outfit for the occasion. This time, a stunning Cady Dress from MaxMara.

We often coin these occasions as attending another “chicken dinner”. I relish the idea of attending an event that takes my breath away (or hunger pains, whichever comes first). It’s incredible to see cuisine transformed into edible masterpieces. Last night, I attended a Lunar New Year Dinner at Peninsula Seafood Restaurant and I have to say, this was no “chicken dinner”.

The event highlighted some of the most beautifully prepared dishes in a six-course menu with plates too good to eat. The experience truly captivated every sense. And yes, every dish tasted as good, if not better, than it looked.

My favourite selection of the evening was the grilled half prince lobster & lamb rack. Expertly paired with a full-bodied white, the lobster rested in a buttery glaze which melted in your mouth. The lamb rack was seared to perfection with a pink centre and plated with a mouth watering Au Jus. The evening was a tantalizing experience for the senses and would make the perfect setting for your next occasion. A must-try gem at Oakridge Centre!
