On September 30, 2020, an important milestone will be achieved in the journey to re-imagine Oakridge. We will accelerate the redevelopment investment to bring the new one million square foot shopping centre and other community elements such as the nine-acre park to the public more than two years ahead of schedule. While some shops and services will remain open, others in the shopping centre will close during an intense phase of project activity.
The Oakridge redevelopment project will create 2,600 homes for 6,000 residents, half a million square feet for office space and a million square feet for retail. The new Oakridge will incorporate a 100,000-square-foot community centre and daycare, the city’s second-largest library, a performing arts academy, a live music venue for more than 3,000 people and the largest public art program in Vancouver’s history.
If you have questions about our plans, please contact us at [email protected] or 604 975-3555. We thank everyone for their patience during this period of transition and acknowledge the work of a dedicated team of professionals and municipal officials striving to make Oakridge a community respectful of its storied heritage and bold future as a new city centre.
