Seniors' Cinema Closes Curtains
Oakridge Administration would like to take a moment to thank the loyal senior’s community that attends the Empire Theatre each month for the Seniors’ Cinema movie screening. After more than a decade of hosting the afternoon movie along with the seniors and the theatre staff, we are sad to announce the last movie was held in December, 2011.
This event would not be possible without the devoted efforts of Jean Eeckhout, Melba Sinclair, Faye Bodenschatz and Audrey Will – thank you for taking the time each month to manage the program and contribute to the success of the event. We would also like to thank the Empire staff for working with us on these events, as well as the food court Starbucks for providing coffee each month.
Since this program began in 2000, the seniors have raised an overwhelming $60,500 for Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. We encourage you to continue your support of the hospice by donating anytime at the Concierge Desk.
