The Community Gathers at Oakridge to Unveil the ChildRun T-Shirt Design Winner

Posted by Oakridge Centre on May 27, 2011

And the winner is...Charles Dickens Elementary School! Three lucky students from this Vancouver school got to see their vision come to life at the ChildRun T-Shirt Design Unveiling Event at Oakridge Centre on Saturday May 14th. Their art work was chosen for the BC Children Hospital Foundation’s upcoming ChildRun and displayed at Oakridge Centre, where all participants and their families were invited to attend the event and celebrate. The winning design will be printed on over 6500 event t-shirts.

Over 100 drawings were submitted from kids ages 2 to 12, and the top ten contest entries were unveiled at this special “VIP” event. Guests enjoyed coffee, juice, cookies, muffins and other treats as they mingled with ChildRun committee members and BCCHF executives, watched dance performances on stage, and heard inspirational stories about patients of the hospital. This is the second year Oakridge has sponsored the run and played host to this fun event.

You can participate in the run on June 5th by visiting bcchf.ca or show your support with a donation and ensure the kids who come through the hospital doors get the level of care they need and deserve!
